What to Do in Madrid
From our hostel in Puerta del Sol you can walk to almost all tourist activities that exist in the center of Madrid, of which we highlight the following:
Museo del Prado:
- Description: One of the most important art galleries in the world and one of the most visited museums in the world.
- Hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 09.00 to 20.00 hrs (including holidays) Closed: Every Monday (including holidays) and on 25 December, 1 January, Good Friday and May 1. Days with reduced opening hours from 9.00 am to 14.00 pm: December 24, 1931 December and 6 January.

Thyssen Bornemisza Museum:
- Description:Ancient Art Picacoteca here remains the collection of works of art reunidad for the family that gave its name to the Museum.
- Hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 to 19.00. Closed Mondays. 24 and 31 December the hours will be from 10.00 to 15.00. The Museum is closed on January 1st, May 1st and December 25th.

Centro de Arte Reina Sofía:
- Description: National Art Museum of the twentieth century. It is the southern tip of the famous Golden Triangle of Art in Madrid.
- Hours:Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 21:00 pm Sunday: 10:00 to 14:30 pm Tuesdays: closed.

Museo Sorolla:
- Description: Founded by donations Sorolla’s widow, this is the museum of his life, which also is in his own house and studio painting.
- Hours: Tuesday-Saturday: 9:30 to 20:00 h. uninterrupted. Sunday and holidays from 10:00 to 15:00 h. Closed: every Monday of the year, January 1, May 1, 1924, 25 and 31 December, and two local holidays.

Royal Palace:
- Description: The official residence of His Majesty the King of Spain, but de facto does not live in it, opening its doors to the public so we can see such a work of art.

Puerta del Sol:
- Description: The center of Spain and Kilometer Zero, general meeting place, meeting place and agglomeration of various nationalities. The Puerta del Sol is a symbol of Madrid and from there we can access all major points of Madrid.
- Hours: Always open to the public.

Parque del Retiro:
- Description: One of the biggest parks in Spain, chaired by a lake and a memorial to Carlos III, this park is the lungs of Madrid, the center green area, ideal for families and sportsmen, worth seeing and enjoying.
- Hours: Winter: from 6 to 22 hours. Summer: from 6 to 24 hours.
- Location: Has several entries in the streets O’Donnell, Menéndez Pelayo, Alcalá and Alfonso XII.

- Other areas of interest in Madrid are La Latina and Lavapies a 10 minute walk from our hostel where you can enjoy the Rastro (Sundays) and the most fashionable area of reeds and tapas in the city.
In the north of the city, we take a tour of the Paseo de la Castellana through Nuevos Ministerios (shopping), the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, the financial district and Azca Kio towers.
